2 women charged in Ottawa home invasion
OTTAWA – Two women are facing charges following a home invasion in Ottawa.
Police say two women went to an Ottawa apartment late Thursday afternoon and when a resident — described as in his late 60s — answered his door, they forced their way into the unit.
Investigators say one of the women forcibly restrained the man while the other searched the apartment and took a small quantity of cash.
Police say the man wasn’t inured and two women were arrested in the area a short time later by patrol officers.
Karen Rheaume, 49, and Carrie-Ann Burns, 46, of Ottawa, are charged with robbery, break and enter, and forcible confinement.
