Man shot in torso on Dundas near Yonge and Bay; SIU now investigating
The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is investigating following a shooting on Dundas Street between Yonge and Bay streets early Monday, Aug. 8.
According to reports, one man was taken to hospital in serious condition with a gunshot wound to the torso around 6 a.m.
Police said they believe the incident started with a person being stabbed on Yonge Street near Dundas.
Dundas Street is closed between Yonge and Bay streets while police investigate.
The 505 Dundas and 506 Carlton streetcars have been diverted.
The SIU is an arm’s length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
