Hamilton police announced Sunday at 6:15 p.m. that missing Finnigan Danne was found dead.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene Sunday.

Detective Paul Hamilton said a statement is coming. No further information is expected until a post mortem is complete.

Hundreds waited anxiously for word on the condition of 12-year-old Danne.

Danne, who went missing at about 10:15 a.m. Saturday, was found Sunday afternoon. An Amber Alert had been issued Sunday.

He had a neuromuscular disorder and as a result walked with a limp.

As word spread that he had been found one woman, who a neighbour said was his mother, exclaimed “Oh my God, oh my God!”

Attention Sunday afternoon was focused on Sullivans Lane in Dundas.

The coroner is on scene in a cordoned-off area on Sullivan Lane, two streets west of Trudy Court, where the boy was last seen.

Many EMS, police and media vehicles are also on scene in Dundas as well as hundreds of civilian volunteers and neighbours.

ATVs, Mounted Unit, and canine unit were all involved in the search.

Concerned for Danne’s well being and safety, police had asked residents to check their properties.
