Police make arrest in fraud investigation
TORONTO – A Toronto man has been arrested following an investigation into an alleged automotive insurance fraud.
Police say they began looking into a fraudulent insurance slip in November last year.
They allege a paralegal purported to be a lawyer and allegedly sold automotive insurance at a value that was more favourable than what was otherwise available.
Police say the man was neither licensed to sell automotive insurance, nor was the insurance valid.
Fifty-six-year-old Min Hoi “Kenny” Yau has been charged with fraud, uttering a forged document and possession of proceeds of crime.
Police believe there may be more victims.
