Toronto police release suspect image in Christie Pits Park fitness class shooting
Toronto police are reaching out to the public in locating a man wanted in a shooting at Christie Pits Park that injured two people Saturday.
The incident happened around 9 a.m. during a fitness class at the park.
The suspect participated in the class, according to media reports, before he started shooting.
Police say the 35-year-old fitness instructor was hit in the abdominal area and suffered life-threatening injuries. A second person was hit in the foot by a stray bullet. Both victims are expected to survive.
The suspect is described as black, dark complexion, with short cornrows hanging out of his baseball cap, 25 to 30, thin build, 5’8” to 5’9″. He was wearing a black baseball cap, black hoodie with a white logo in the centre, black sweat pants with a light logo on left front hip area, light-coloured running shoes, and dark sunglasses with gold trim on the arms.
He should be considered armed and dangerous. Police say do not approach him, but call 911.
