Two arrested following thefts from unlocked vehicles at Yorkdale Shopping Centre parking lot

Two people face a total of 33 charges in a theft from autos investigation in North York.


Police allege that in August a man stole property from unlocked vehicles parked at Yorkdale Mall and fled in a vehicle driven by an accomplice.


Two people were arrested Monday, Aug. 29 at 7 p.m.


Police have recovered a quantity of allegedly stolen property and are asking victims to come forward to reclaim their items.


Brian Jed Contreras, 20, of Toronto is charged with five counts of theft under $5,000, five counts of possessing property obtained by crime under $5,000, 12 counts of failing to comply with recognizance and one count of mischief – damage to property.


Maria Perdomo Lozano, 40, of Toronto is charged with five counts of theft under $5,000 and five counts of possessing property obtained by crime under $5,000.
